TRUMPET is a performance musical instrument for your iPhone. It plays, sounds, and operates like a real trumpet.

Realistic controls * Real fingerings * Real samples * Real chromatic control over more than two octaves * a flexible sound engine * a visual synthesizer * wireless MIDI control! * record your performances, and listen in the browser/email/embed them!

TRUMPET controls are based upon the principles of a real trumpet. You can adjust this control to include breath, touch, and even tilt control.

Its a great way to learn how a trumpet works, and its expressive enough to be a real instrument for proficient musicians.

TRUMPET includes a unique sound engine that uses sound samples of real instruments -- including a Bb trumpet, a flugelhorn, and a trumpet with a harmon mute inserted.

TRUMPET also features the Visual Synth. Create your own sounds with our additive synthesizer, adding reverb, filters, and sculpting the overtones to explore the soundscape.

Control your music studio with TRUMPET -- full MIDI control is included via the musicofx midi tool [PC *and* Mac], free with Saxophone! Control GarageBand, Reason, or Logic wirelessly -- a new performance MIDI controller!

Finally, you can record and share your TRUMPET performances. Upload, download, vote -- you can even listen to them in your browser, embed them in your blog, or send them to Mom in an email.

Check out TRUMPET today -- and check out the rest of our awesome new musical instruments in the music of expression series! Find out more at our website, musicofx.com.

Pros and cons of TRUMPET musicofx app for iPhone and iPad

TRUMPET musicofx app good for

Your program helped me understand and explain how a trumpet works, especially the "realistic valves".
In the last months this is the app I use more since im studying trumpet scales and fingering. You cant bring real trumpets , this is a good surrogate. You can also play along with your iPod library and that is very good. Unfortunately you cannot consider it a real instrument but its real close, I strongly suggest to the developer to permit simultaneously mouth control with left hand and volume with tilt: the sound will improve and you could obtain the sounds of a real trumpet. Still wondering how could you control pitch bending. Maybe two fingers on left hand, Anyway, Nice app! Need more attention!

Some bad moments

This works fine of my iPhone 3GS of iOS4. However there is a problem in iPhone 4S and iOS 5.0.1. I always hear another tone. For example, I play C, but also hear A at same time. Could you please fix this problem.
As a musician Im blown away by how easy it was to get started playing, and then tweak the controls to really get going. why arent there more iphone musical instruments like this? i havent done much with the online part yet, but I just tried out the midi and was AMAZED at how responsive and fun it is. Apps like this make me believe in the app store again... looking forward to the other instruments these guys have planned.
Only 99 cents for such a great program! It looks really cool and its fun to play. Whether youre an experienced musician or just an iphone owner, check it out!
This is amazing. Im not a real musician, but this is the most fun ever. I can experiment and "play with" it, as well as try to play it. And my kids have a blast making "music" come out of a phone! Wonderful fun, even, or perhaps especially, for someone who plays at music. Sean K
this is very cool, i love it! i cant believe its only a dollar. im not a musician but i have fun tooling around with it, and i also have snooty music friends that always wants to play with it on my iphone! i cant believe it was only $1. I hope more instruments come out soon!
Contrary to the developers best friends who may have posted the rave reviews, this app is terrible if you are expecting a real trumpet sound. The "trumpet" samples are not much better than a plastic toy trumpet and are not even good examples of a trumpet-like synth. Improve the sound and you will have a nice app. But at the current specs it is a bigger waste of money than a flashlight app.
